The Vancouver Art Guild is dedicated to encouraging the study and appreciation of art in and around Vancouver.
The Guild serves as a support group for emerging artists and art students. To accomplish this goal art education for members is facilitated through weekly studio sessions, classes in art techniques, workshops, lectures, critiques, art history, and organized tours and painting trips.
In addition, the Guild supports a number of art related community outreach activities: an annual scholarship to an Emily Carr student, Opus gift certificates to art based elementary and secondary schools and the guild donates art supplies to a inner city community centre.
The Guild provides an opportunity for its members to exhibit and sell artwork at the annual Winter Salon and in other venues.
The artists in our Guild work in watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastels, and original prints. We are not able to support work in photography, computer generated art, jewellery, ceramics, or three dimensional art.
As a creative community, we embrace diversity in our membership. We welcome artists of all backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, cultures, races, ages, and those with physical and/or neurological divergence.
